Present Continuous Tense, যা Present progressive tense নামেও পরিচিত, একটি ক্রিয়া কাল যা বর্তমানে চলমান এবং চলমান একটি ক্রিয়া বর্ণনা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
A verb tense used to depict an action that is currently taking place and continuing is the present continuous tense, sometimes referred to as the present progressive tense.
Form(গঠন):
Positive form: Subject + am/is/are + present participle (-ing) + object

Some Positive form sentences example:
- I am reading a book right now.(আমি এই মুহূর্তে একটি বই পড়ছি।)
- She is eating Burger. (সে বার্গার খাচ্ছে।)
- We are playing football.(আমরা ফুটবল খেলছি।)
Negative form: Subject + am/is/are(not) + present participle (-ing) + object

- I am not reading book right now.(আমি এখন বই পড়ি না।)
- She is not eating Burger.(সে বার্গার খাচ্ছে না।)
- We are not playing football.(আমরা ফুটবল খেলছি না।)
Question form: Am/is/are + subject +present participle (-ing) + object

Some Question form sentences example
- Am i readinga book right now?(আমি কি এখন একটি বই পড়ছি?)
- Is she eating a burger?(সে কি বার্গার খাচ্ছে?)
- Are they playing football?(তারা কি ফুটবল খেলছে?)
ছোট্ট কুইজ:নিচে আরো কিছু বাক্য দেয়া আছে। যেগুলো form/গঠন সূত্র দেখে তোমরা নেগেটিভ এবং প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য বানিয়ে ফেলো। যেমন, বাক্যে “I am reading a book right now.” এটা পজেটিভ। আর এটার নেগেটিভ Form করলে হবে ”I am not reading book right now.”. এবং এটা প্রশ্নবোধক হবে “Am i readinga book right now?”😃
- I am reading a book right now. (আমি এই মুহূর্তে একটি বই পড়ছি.)
- They are studying for the exam. (তারা পরীক্ষার জন্য পড়াশোনা করছে।)
- She is cooking dinner right now. (সে এখন রাতের খাবার রান্না করছে।)
- I am reading a book at the moment. (আমি এই মুহূর্তে একটি বই পড়ছি।)
Usage (ব্যবহার):
Present Continuous tense এমন একটি ক্রিয়া বর্ণনা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয় যা বর্তমানে চলছে এবং চলমান রয়েছে।এটি প্রায়শই কথা বলার মুহূর্তে কী ঘটছে তা বর্ণনা করতে বা অস্থায়ী পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে কথা বলতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
For example:
- He is talking on the phone right now. (তিনি এখন ফোনে কথা বলছেন।)
- They are playing basketball in the park.(তারা পার্কে বাস্কেটবল খেলছে।)
- She is studying for her test this week. (তিনি এই সপ্তাহে তার পরীক্ষার জন্য অধ্যয়নরত।)
Guide words(কিছু নির্দেশিকা শব্দ):
Some common signal words used with the present continuous tense include “right now”, “at the moment”, “currently”, and “currently in progress”. These signal words are used to indicate that the action is happening now and is ongoing.
নির্দেশিকা শব্দসহ বাক্যের উদাহরণ (For example):
- Right now: I am writing an email right now. (আমি এখনই একটি ইমেল লিখছি।)
- At the moment: He is studying at the moment. (তিনি এই মুহূর্তে পড়াশোনা করছেন।)
- Currently: They are currently working on the project. (তারা বর্তমানে প্রকল্পে কাজ করছে।)
- Ongoing: The construction work is ongoing at the moment.(এই মুহূর্তে নির্মাণ কাজ চলছে।)
- Now: We are now discussing the plan. (আমরা এখন পরিকল্পনা নিয়ে আলোচনা করছি।)
- Look/Listen: Look, he is dancing on the stage! (দেখুন, তিনি মঞ্চে নাচছেন!)
- Behold: Behold, the sunset is so beautiful. (দেখুন, সূর্যাস্ত খুব সুন্দর।)
