আমরা যখন কথা বলি, লেখি, তখন কি একই শব্দ বারবার ব্যবহার করতে ভালো লাগে? অবশ্যই না! ভাষাকে সুন্দর, প্রাণবন্ত করে তুলতে আমাদের সাহায্য করে নানান শ্রেণীর শব্দ।এরকমইএকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শ্রেণীর নাম হলো সর্বনাম।

ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণে Pronoun বা সর্বনাম বলতে এমন শব্দকে বোঝায় যা কোনোNounবাNoun Phraseএর পরিবর্তে ব্যবহার করা হয়।একটি বাক্য বা অনুচ্ছেদে একই Noun বারবার ব্যবহার করে বাক্যকে অসৌন্দর এবং একঘেঁয়ে করে তোলার পরিবর্তেআমরা সর্বনাম ব্যবহার করতে পারি।যেমন: “he,” “she,” “it,” “they,” “we”, “you” এবং “me” ইত্যাদি।

The word which we use instead of Noun is called pronoun. A pronoun always replaces a noun,

Some simple examples:

She is a good girl. (এই বাক্যে She Pronoun)
I am afraid of mice. (এই বাক্যে I Pronoun)

আবার Noun(বিশেষ্যকে) বিভিন্ন প্রকারে ভাগ করা যায়। যেমন:

1. Personal Pronouns:

নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা জিনিস উল্লেখ করাকে বোঝায়। যেমন:- I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us, them

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Personal Pronouns–এর উদাহরণ:

I am going to the store to buy groceries. (আমি গ্রোসারি সামগ্রী কিনতে দোকানে যাচ্ছি। এই বাক্যে I টা Personal Pronoun)
He plays soccer every Saturday with his friends. (সে প্রতি শনিবার তার বন্ধুদের সাথে ফুটবল খেলে। এই বাক্যে He টা Personal Pronoun)
We went to the beach and passed a great time. (আমরা সৈকতে গিয়েছিলাম এবং একটি উত্তম সময় পার করলাম । এই বাক্যে We টা Personal Pronoun)

3. Reflexive Pronouns:

তারা একটি ব্যক্তি বা জিনিস উল্লেখ করাকে বোঝায়। যেমন: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves.

অর্থাৎ রিফ্লেক্সিভ Pronouns হল “আমি, নিজেকে,নিজেরা এবং নিজেদের মতো শব্দ।”

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Reflexive Pronouns-এর উদাহরণ:

She hurt herself when she fell off the bike. (বাক্যে herself reflexive pronoun)
I need to remind myself to buy milk at the store. (দোকান থেকে দুধ কিনতে আমার নিজেকে মনে করিয়ে দিতে হবে। বাক্যে myself reflexive pronoun)
They enjoyed themselves at the party last night. (গত রাতে পার্টিতে তারা নিজেরা উপভোগ করেছে।বাক্যে themselves reflexive pronoun)

4. Demonstrative Pronouns:

কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা জিনিস নির্দেশ করাকে বোঝায়। যেমন: this, that, these, those

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Demonstrative Pronouns-এর উদাহরণ:

This: This is my sister. (উনি আমার বোন। বাক্যে this Demonstrative pronoun)
That: That car over there looks really nice. (ঐ যে সেখানে গাড়ী সত্যিই সুন্দর দেখাচ্ছে। বাক্যে that Demonstrative pronoun)
These: These shoes are too small for me. (এই জুতাগুলো আমার জন্য খুব ছোট। বাক্যে these Demonstrative pronoun)

5. Interrogative Pronouns:

প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন: who, whom, whose, what, which

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Interrogative Pronouns-এর উদাহরণ:

Who is that girl in the red dress? (লাল পোশাক পরা ওই মেয়েটি কে? বাক্যে Who Interrogative pronoun)
What is your friend’s name? (তোমার বন্ধুর নাম কি? বাক্যে what Interrogative pronoun)
Whose phone is that? (এটা কার ফোন? বাক্যে Whose Interrogative pronoun)
Which color do you prefer? (আপনি কোন রঙ পছন্দ করেন? বাক্যে which Interrogative pronoun)

6. Relative Pronouns:

বাক্যের ভিতরে কোন একটি noun সম্পর্কে নতুন তথ্য সংযুক্ত করার জন্য Relative pronouns ব্যবহার করা হয়। এসব Prononuns কোনো বাক্যের মাঝখানে বসে clauses and phrases কে connect করে।

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Relative Pronouns-এর উদাহরণ:

The book that I am reading is really interesting. (আমি যে বইটি পড়ছি তা সত্যিই আকর্ষণীয়। বাক্যের ভিতরে that Relative pronoun)
Sarah, who is a doctor, also works as a writer. (সারা, যিনি একজন ডাক্তার, তিনি একজন লেখক হিসেবেও কাজ করেন। বাক্যের ভিতরেwho Relative Pronoun)
Where did you buy the dress that you wore yesterday? (আপনি গতকাল যে পোশাকটি পরেছিলেন তা কোথা থেকে কিনেছেন? বাক্যের ভিতরে কানেকশন করা that Relative pronoun)

Pronouns সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করা আপনার লেখাকে আরও সংক্ষিপ্ত করতে, পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়াতে এবং ওভারল ক্লিয়ারিটি ইম্প্রুভ করতে সাহায্য করবে। বিভিন্ন ধরনের Prononus বা সর্বনাম ব্যবহার করা আপনার লেখাকে আরও আকর্ষণীয় এবং বৈচিত্র্যময় করতে সাহায্য করতে পারে। এটি আপনাকে পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়াতে এবং আপনার বাক্যগুলিকে আরও সংক্ষিপ্ত করতে সহায়তা করতে পারে।
